According to Deadline, season 3 will follow the students as they bid farewell to East High for summer fun at Camp Shallow Lake, a sleep-away camp in California. The new season will be packed with “campfires, summer romances, and curfew-less nights” as the Wildcats prep for the camp’s summer production of Frozen. That means HSM:TM:TS swapped filming locations while filming season 3, moving from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles in order to accommodate the nature-friendly vibe of a summer camp.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 stars Joshua Bassett as Ricky Bowen, Sofia Wylie as Gina Porter, Matt Cornett as E.J. Caswell, Julia Lester as Ashlyn Caswell, Dara Reneé as Kourtney Greene, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Carlos Rodriguez, and Saylor Bell as Maddox, a bright-eyed, quick-witted ‘techie’ who always follows the rules.
In the new season, it’s summer break! The Wildcats leave the hallways of East High for the ultimate summer at sleepaway camp, complete with campfires, summer romances and curfew-less nights. With a high-stakes production of Frozen and a behind-the-scenes “docuseries” of the production in the works, the Wildcats will attempt to show who is “best in snow” without leaving anyone out in the cold.
