A photo from the set of Spider-Man: No Way Home could be teasing a surprise villain.

Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, will appear with our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s one thing to hear that information; it’s another to actually see the Sorcerer Supreme with Peter Parker in person. We finally get our first glimpse at Spider-Man and Doctor Strange interacting for the first time since Avengers: Endgame, thanks to a new set photo from Spider-Man: No Way Home. Take a look at the following:

Doctor Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, stands at the entryway of his Sanctum Santorum on Bleecker Street. Peter Parker is on his way to a meeting down the street from him. Some speculations (and simply plain critical thinking) regarding No Way Home claim that Peter would seek out Strange to utilize his magic to help him deal with his plight as a publicly wanted murderer of Quentin Beck a.k.a. Mysterio. It’s possible that this is their first encounter, or that Peter is simply returning to the Sanctum after doing an errand for Strange.
