A sequel to ‘A Simple Favor’ is in the works with both Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively set to return. Paul Feig will return to direct the sequel, he also produce with Laura Fischer. Jessica Sharzer is writing the screenplay.
The film was released in September 2018, by Lionsgate, well the critics praised the plot twists, and the performances of Kendrick, Lively, and Golding. Grossing $97 million worldwide on a $20 million budget.
The synopsis follows: “Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) is a widowed, single mother who works as a vlogger in Connecticut. Her best friend, Emily, seems to have it all — a successful career, a loving family, and a glamorous lifestyle. When Emily mysteriously disappears one day, Stephanie launches her own investigation by digging into her friend’s past — and finding a few surprises along the way.”
Feigco Entertainment is set to produce. Sharzer will executive produce. Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
Kendrick recently starred in the Netflix drama Stowaway and also in the first season of HBO Max’s Love Life. She can be seen next in Alice, Darling, which she also exec produced as well as The Dating Game.
