A fresh leak has fueled speculation that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will reprise their roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home. They appear to be sharing a frame with contemporary Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, in a purported leak of an upcoming trailer for the film.
The three of them are bloodied and bruised on a cruise ship at night, most likely following a fight scene. They’ve all taken off their masks and are staring at something outside the frame. Tobey’s hair is considerably shorter now than it was previously.
A second image revealed an inside setting. Around a dinner table, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is joined by Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan and Marissa Tomei’s Aunt May. Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil in the smash Netflix series, will also be joining them. He’s dressed in his normal grey suit, strolling with his cane and wearing red spectacles. The photographs feature a watermark from ‘The John Campea Program,’ a YouTube cinema chat show hosted by Canadian film critic John Campea.
While some fans are ecstatic with the ostensible ‘confirmation’ that the three would be collaborating, others suspect the images are false. In a tweet, one said, “These gotta be phoney right?” “I’m leery about the matt ones.” “He’s wearing the same suit he wore in S1 with the same tie placement (slightly different, but that can be modified) and his legs are awkwardly placed to how he’s sitting,” said another. “I believe Andrew’s stance is from Amazing Spider-Man 2, it was altered, and the second moment in the movie will be erased by Marvel,” commented another.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit the theaters on December 17.
