Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom: Started Filming

The filmmaker previewed the official title for the film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom with an Instagram picture from their production meeting three weeks ago. While we don’t know much about the movie yet, Wan’s Instagram post reveals that the working title is Necrus, which is the name of an undersea civilization. The set shot shows an ice tunnel that might be the location of the second undersea metropolis, which is poised to reintroduce itself to the world.

Warner Bros. Studios will be used for filming. Leavesden in Watford, England, is a departure from the original film, which was shot at Village Roadshow Studios in Australia. The English facility is also being utilized for The Flash, as well as other Warner Bros. films such as The Batman and Fantastic Beasts 3 that have recently finished.

Other DC Comics projects in development include Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, which is nearing completion, and David F. Sandberg’s Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, which has recently begun filming in Atlanta.

Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom releases on December 16, 2022 in theaters.
