Beyblade: A Live-Action Film is In Development at Paramount

A live-action film based on ‘Beyblade‘ is in development at Paramount. The film adaptation is produced by Mr. Blockbuster Jerry Bruckheimer. The script was written by Neil Widener and Gavin James for the project. The plot details are being kept under wraps.

Takara Tomy introduced the brand in 1999 in Japan and garnered immediate success and popularity. Beyblade is an acclaimed, 15-year-old multimedia franchise brand created by Japanese toy company, Takara Tomy. The franchise surrounds high-performance spinning tops known as the eponymous “Beyblades”. Beyblade is also the name of multiple anime and manga series concerning a group of children who form teams with which they battle one another using Beyblades.

The film is still in the early stages of development, with the success of the toys, which have sold hundreds of millions of copies, the Transformers studio will most certainly examine franchise potential.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Paramount Pictures are set to release the highly anticipated sequel Top Gun: Maverick this summer. The Hollywood super-producer is also in production on Paramount action-adventure movie Secret Headquarters with Owen Wilson and on the modern-day TV adaptation of the 1980 film American Gigolo with Paramount TV. He is also producing the buzzy Brad Pitt Formula One pic which has his Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski aboard. As we reported, that one is heading towards Apple.
