No, Black Canary is not canceled. Speaking to TV Line, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Pictures confirms that the Black Canary standalone movie that was first announced a year ago remains in development at HBO Max. also, Green Lantern & Harley Quinn: Season 4 are in development as well.


Jurnee Smollett will reprise her role as Dinah Lance a.k.a Black Canary.

Speaking to THR, Smollett told that the love she’s getting from Twitter about the character ‘Black Canary’. Smollett said,


“Truly, one of the great joys of my professional career has been playing Black Canary and to see the response from the fans online and engaging on Twitter. They are a massive reason why I am where I am, and any excitement I have about continuing on the Black Canary trajectory, it’s being made possible because of the fans.”

Who Is Black Canary and Her Powers?

Dinah Lance a.ka Black Canary is a former resident chanteuse at the Black Mask Club and personal chauffeur for Gotham City crime lord Roman Sionis. Canary is also a powerful metahuman, inheriting her distinctive sonic scream ability from her late mother. After becoming disillusioned with Sionis due to his cruelty towards others, she eventually fought back against him with the assistance of Harley Quinn, Huntress, and GCPD detective Renee Montoya in order to protect Cassandra Cain when the latter stole the Bertinelli Diamond from him.
