Black Adam’s First Look And Casting Shared By Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson celebrates the completion of Black Adam’s Justice Society of America following Pierce Brosnan’s casting as Dr. Fate. Johnson has been waiting to make his DCEU debut for years now, and it’s finally closer than ever. Black Adam, though it remains without a release date, is weeks away from starting production after several delays. Johnson will step into the title role of Black Adam, the villain-turned-antihero from the pages of DC Comics. The actor has been working to get a Black Adam movie made since 2008, and as he revealed recently on social media, he can’t wait to finally get started on this long-awaited solo film.

For some time, Johnson was the only name attached to Black Adam, but recent months have seen the cast list grow substantially. In August, Johnson confirmed the film will include the Justice Society of America, with Noah Centineo being the first to join the team as Atom Smasher. Aldis Hodge (Hawkman) and Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone) were added sometime after, and as of yesterday, the roster has been completed with the addition of Brosnan as Dr. Fate. This will be the former James Bond actor’s first superhero movie.

For Johnson, there’s no question that this development is incredibly exciting. Johnson has been unabashedly enthusiastic about making Black Adam, and that it is finally coming together must be a thrill. With so much progress finally being made behind the scenes, Black Adam will hopefully get a new release date soon so audiences know just when to expect its arrival. It seems likely that the movie will premiere sometime in the first half of 2022, meaning there’s still quite a wait ahead. Perhaps Johnson will share some teases from the set when Black Adam finally begins production. After all this time, the fans certainly deserve them.
