The first footage of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been screened at the CinemaCon 2022. The footage includes “Nakia, Shuri & Okoye all on the front line of what looked like a major battle approaching.” The footage will be officially released soon. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Agent Everett Ross, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Letitia Wright as Princess Shuri, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Angela Bassett as Queen Mother Ramonda, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Michaela Coel as Aneka, Isaach De Bankolé as River Tribe Elder, Dorothy Steel as Merchant Tribe Elder and Danny Sapani as M’Kathu.
“There’s only one Chadwick and he’s not with us,” said Marvel Studios’ EVP Victoria Alonso. “Our king, unfortunately, has died in real life, not just in fiction, and we are taking a little time to see how we return to history and what we do to honor this chapter of what has happened to us that was so unexpected, so painful, so terrible, really.”
Kevin Feige added: “So much of the comics and that first movie is the world of Wakanda. Wakanda is a place to further explore with characters and different subcultures. This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story. We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick and we’re not recasting T’Challa.”
