Blossoms Shanghai: Upcoming Series Trailer Out Now

Wong Kar Wai, a Hong Kong director, has picked Blossoms, an adaptation of Jin Yucheng’s novel, as his first series project. Blossoms Shanghai will be a tribute to Wong’s hometown, Shanghai, through studying the city’s great economic rise in the 1990s. It follows Mr. Bao, a self-made millionaire, on his transformation from a troubled young opportunist to the pinnacles of the golden metropolis. Check the first trailer below

Hu Ge, who starred in the film Wild Goose Lake, will appear in the series, which is written by Qin Wen. The pilot episode will be directed by Wong as well. The filming will take place in Shanghai. Wong’s Jet Tone are the producers. The Chinese rights have been bought by Tencent Penguin Pictures.
