Backstage at the Critics’ Choice Awards, Blanchett and Butler showed mutual appreciation for one another. The 28th Critics’ Choice Awards were presented on January 15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Chelsea Handler hosted the CW broadcast, replacing actor Taye Diggs, who had presented the awards event for the previous four years. Special recognition was given to Janelle Monáe.
