Channing Tatum is in talks to star opposite Scarlett Johansson in ‘Project Artemis,’ replacing Chris Evans who was initially cast. Greg Berlanti will direct the film. According to THR, Channing Tatum and Greg Berlanti is set for Project Artemis. Apple Studios will be producing the project.
It is directed by Greg Berlanti from a script written by Rose Gilroy. it is described as a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of the 1968 Apollo 11 moon launch. Johansson will produce under her These Pictures banner. Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn will produce alongside Johansson for These Pictures. Apple Studios also serves as a producer.
Jason Bateman was previously helmed as director, he left in early June due to creative differences. Chris Evans was originally on board to star alongside Johansson, but he backed due to scheduling conflicts. The plot details are kept under wraps.
After The Lost City, this project is Tatum’s first deal. Tatum had back-to-back hits this year as he early starred and directed MGM’s comedic drama Dog, which barked up over $60 million domestically.
