Dane Sayers, a former TUF 12 contender, has been declared deceased after his body was recovered from the Red River in Fargo.

Fans of the sport will remember Sayers for his performance in Season 12 of The Ultimate Fighter. On TUF 12, the Fargo native went 1-1 under Georges St-mentorship, Pierre’s submitting Ariel Sexton before losing a decision to Sako Chivitchian, knocking him out of the competition.

In April of 2018, ‘Red Horse’ participated in mixed martial arts under the LFA brand for the first time.

MMA Fighting received the following statement from a member of Dane’s family:

“It is with great sadness that we announce Dane Sayers’ untimely death. Dane has an incredible 12-4 record as a professional MMA fighter, earning the nickname “Red Horse” for his proud Native ancestry.
