According to fans, if Netflix is able to bring Synder’s Justice League Part: 2 off the ground, it will be the greatest win in the history of any streaming service. DC Studios’ current co-chairmen and chief executive officers are James Gunn and Peter Safran. Fans were first happy because they believed the DC universe had been restored, but then things changed. The first unexpected decision by Gunn and Safran was to eliminate existing DCEU cast members Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and Jason Momoa.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom were the upcoming releases this year. According to Gunn, he has developed a chart for a 10-year plan for DC adaptations, which includes films, TV shows, animated productions, and video games.

In a statement, Zaslav said, “DC has among the most entertaining, powerful, and iconic characters in the world and I am thrilled to have the singular and complementary talents of James and Peter joining our world-class team and overseeing the creative direction of the storied DC Universe. Their decades of experience in filmmaking, close ties to the creative community, and proven track record thrilling superhero fans around the globe make them uniquely qualified to develop a long-term strategy across film, TV, and animation, and take this iconic franchise to the next level of creative storytelling.”

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit theaters on 17 March 2023.
