“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” early run time revealed the longest MCU film ever made. Raimi’s Multiverse of Madness possibly will have important cuts of characters and scenes. The early run time is currently 3 hours long.
Doctor Strange 2 was supposed to release before Spider-man: No Way Home. Due to Covid 19 pandemic-related delays, No Way Home pulled forward and changes had to be made to the script. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers said to Variety that:
“We were actually working off of things that were happening in ‘Doctor Strange 2,’ and trying to incorporate them into our script. When we started writing, [Strange] knows firsthand the dangers of screwing with these things. Then we changed it so he was a person who doesn’t know that much about the multiverse. But that makes it even more frightening, to start fooling around with these things because it’s the fear of the unknown. Either way, he was the voice of reason going, ‘You don’t mess with the fate of an individual’ — and Peter Parker being naive enough to go, ‘Why not? Why can’t we save these people?’”
The cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong as Master Wong, Rachel McAdams as Doctor Christine Palmer, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, Adam Hugill as Rintrah, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie Laufeydottir, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set scheduled to hit theaters on May 6th, 2022.
