Box Office Reports: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness box-office is getting worse. The film has earned $61M in the film’s second weekend at the domestic box office, a 67% drop from its opening weekend. Doctor Strange sequel has earned $688M at the worldwide box office so far.
On Friday the film grossed $16.7 M, dropping a steep 81% from the $90.7 million earned domestically during its opening day. This marks the second-worst second Friday drop for an MCU movie. Projections have the film dropping around 65%-69% this second weekend, eyeing a gross of $60-$65 million.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will mark $1 billion by end of May.
The film is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo/Baron Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, with Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer.
