Lilly Singh was the first and only gay woman of colour to host a late-night series on television. In June, NBC announced the end of her two-season series, as the network transitions away from the original discussion in the 1:30 a.m. hour. As a consequence, Singh signed a first-look contract with Universal Television Alternative Studio to produce unscripted content for NBCUniversal’s entire portfolio. She’ll also appear in a Netflix comedy series she’s creating with Kenya Barris, as well as writers Nell Scovell and Diya Mishra.
