Don Cheadle Joined Noah Baumbach’s Upcoming Film Adaptation Of Don DeLillo’s Satire ‘White Noise’

Don Cheadle has joined the cast of Noah Baumbach’s upcoming film adaptation of Don DeLillo’s satire ‘White Noise‘. Alongside Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Raffey Cassidy. It’s taken a long time, but apocalyptic 2021 could be the best year to start: Don DeLillo’s chilling, tragicomic, and catastrophic novel “White Noise” will be adapted into a film. As originally reported in the newest issue of Production Weekly, Noah Baumbach, the maestro of domestic tragedy, will helm the film, which will star Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig.

The National Book Award-winning comedy tells the story of Jack Gladney, a professor of Hitler studies, and his fourth (or fifth?) wife, Babette. Their orderly lives in the Midwest are turned upside down when a railway accident causes a “airborne hazardous event.” DeLillo, a renowned author of heady, expansive (and seldom adapted) fiction who went on to create “Underworld,” considers the work to be one of the greatest. “White Noise” influenced modern writing until Rumaan Alam’s spooky “Leave the World Behind,” which is also set to be made into a film.
