Dustin Poirier is unquestionably destined for the UFC Hall of Fame. Poirier will go down in UFC history as one of the best 155-pound fighters to ever step foot inside the octagon if he wins lightweight gold against Charles Oliveira later this year.
What’s next for ‘The Diamond’ if he wins the championship? He has defeated the greatest in the division, with the exception of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Poirier feels that once he wins the title, he would have accomplished his main goal and will have nothing more to prove. Porier could have been implying that his illustrious career was coming to an end, despite the fact that he didn’t say so.
Dustin Poirier has knocked out nearly every top challenger in the lightweight division since his return to the division in 2015.
Conor McGregor, Eddie Alvarez, and Justin Gaethje, to mention a few, are among the Louisianan’s knockout victories over past and temporary champions. The lightweight title, which he’ll fight for against Charles Oliveira later this year, is the only thing lacking from his resume.
