Dwayne Johnson shared a new set image of DC’s Black Adam during the reshoots. Black Adam will be Johnson’s first superhero film, the role is based on the DC Comics anti-hero of the same name. Black Adam is an alternative to Shazam!, The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani. Black Adam will hit the United States theaters on October 21, 2022. See the image below.
Johnson is currently undergoing major reshoots of Black Adam, In the above post Johnson quoted “Intense week of production on BLACK ADAM, Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing some great (fun) characters, but none speak to my DNA more than this antihero known as the man in black, Teth Adam. Rage against the dying of the light.”
Alongside Dwayne Johnson, the film also stars Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson / Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Additionally, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Warner Bros. adjusted the film’s release schedule due to the impacts of COVID-19 on the workload of visual effects vendors. Black Adam was pushed back to October 21, 2022, with The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom moved from late 2022 into 2023 to allow time for their visual effects work to be completed.
