Dwayne Johnson (Black Adam, Moana, The Fast and Furious franchise) will voice Krypto the Superdog in Warner Bros. and Warner Group Animation’s forthcoming animated film DC League of Super-Pets. The project will be produced by Johnson’s Seven Bucks production firm. The film was scheduled to be released in 2021, but was postponed by the studio, and will now be released on May 20, 2022.

Jared Stern (The Lego Batman Movie) and John Whittington (The Lego Ninjago Movie) wrote and directed DC League of Super-Pets, which Stern co-directed with Sam Levine (Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero). The idea is based on characters developed by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster for DC Comics’ Superman.

The film will be the first time that Superman’s loyal canine buddy appears in a major film. Between 2005 and 2006, an animated television series called Krypto the Superdog centered on the exploits of the Kryptonian superhero dog and his buddies. Dc is setting something big in the upcoming days all we need to do is wait. The animated film releases in theaters May 20, 2022.
