Elisabeth Moss, who starred in Apple’s adaptation of Shining Girls, will also direct two episodes of the series. Michelle MacLaren and Daina Reid will direct the remaining episodes of the eight-episode series.

In July of last year, Elisabeth Moss (The Invisible Man) was originally cast in the forthcoming thriller Shining Girls. She’ll now play a new part in the project.

According to Variety, the first season of the anticipated Apple TV+ series has found its directors. Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad), who has won an Emmy, Moss, who has won an Emmy and a SAG, and Daina Reid (The Handmaid’s Tale), who has been nominated for an Emmy, are among those chosen. The first two episodes will be directed by MacLaren, the next two by Moss, and the final four by Reid.

Shining Girls is based on Lauren Beukes‘ book of the same name, which she also wrote and is an executive producer on. The novel was first published in 2013 and has since been re-released. Silka Louisa (Strange Angel) is the project’s showrunner, as well as adapting for television and executive producing.

Kirby (Moss) is a character who survived a severe attack. She begins her search for her assailant, but she soon realizes that the reality around her is unstable and altering.
