First look at Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone in ‘Black Adam’

A new look at Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel/Cyclone in upcoming DC’s Antihero film Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson revealed. In DC Comics, Cyclone is a junior member of the Justice Society with the power to manipulate wind and sound. Her abilities are Aerokinesis, Deflection, Cyclone Creation, Air Blasts, and Flight. The film also introduces Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher. Additionally, Sarah Shahi has a supporting role.

In an interview with Collider, Quintessa Swindell shared joining the world of superheroes with Black Adam.

Yeah because there’s a level of realism in the character and that’s just really beautiful. Seeing what they’re doing with the script and seeing what they’re doing with DC as a whole is just really beautiful. It’s inspiring, the direction that they’re going in, and being able to be a part of that process lines up with every other project. It definitely means something. The values that it has at its core are values that line up with what I believe in and what I look up to.

Quintessa Swindell is currently filming HBO’s In Treatment alongside Uzo Aduba. They are a breakout star of the hit Netflix series Trinkets and also had a memorable turn in HBO’s acclaimed series Euphoria. In the can is the Neil Burger feature Voyagers opposite Colin Farrell and Tye Sheridan, which Lionsgate hopes to release next year.

Black Adam will hit theaters on July 29, 2022.
