‘Game of Thrones’ sequel series is in the works at HBO. Kit Harington is set to reprise his role as Jon Snow. THR reported that HBO is currently working on a Game of Thrones live-action spin-off series that centers on the character Jon Snow.
Jon Snow is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, the late Prince of Dragonstone. After successfully capturing a wight and presenting it to the Lannisters as proof that the Army of the Dead are real, Jon pledges himself and his army to Daenerys Targaryen. In the final season of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow discovered his true name was Aegon Targaryen, a potential heir to the Iron Throne. In the series finale, he was exiled from Westeros and journeyed North of the Wall with the Wildlings to leave his old life behind.
Harington recently appeared on MCU’s Eternals. recently he starred in the title role in the National Theater’s live production of Henry V. On Thrones. He is also best known for some of the show’s most grueling filming, including the final season’s infamous 11 weeks of winter night shoots in Northern Ireland.
HBO’s next spin-off series is House of the Dragon, set 200 years before Game of Thrones, Other spin-offs previously confirmed by HBO include Tales of Dunk and Egg, 10,000 Ships, and Nine Voyages, which are all prequels.
House of the Dragon is set to premiere on 21 August 2022.
