Hayden Panettiere to reprise role as Kirby Reed in ‘Scream 6’. Panettiere last appeared on Scream 4 (2004), she has now closed a deal to reprise her character as Kirby Reed in the upcoming installment of the Scream franchise. In the next installment, the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start afresh chapter.
Hayden Panettiere will play alongside confirmed cast Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox. Scream 5 worked well with horror effects on audiences and film grossing $140 million worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sixth installment is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, serving as writers on the project. Production is set to begin in Canada in June 2022.
In Scream 4, Panettiere played Kirby Reed, a teen in fictional and terror-filled Woodsboro, California, the setting for the Scream franchise stories. While initially a “best friend” type, Reed rises to hero status by the end, which also sees her near-mortally wounded but now a survivor.

The film is produced by Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak. Williamson and the third member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, are executive producing alongside Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena.
Scream 6 Release Date?
Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures announced that the Scream 6 will hit theaters on March 31, 2023.
