The first clip from filmmaker James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker has been released on HBO Max. The sneak peek was featured in a new teaser for the streamer’s upcoming series, which played during Sunday night’s 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. watch the glimpse below.

In Peacemaker, John Cena reprises his role as Christopher Smith, a brutal, uber-patriotic mercenary who believes in establishing peace at any costs. The series, which comprises of eight episodes and was written by Gunn while working on The Suicide Squad in 2021, is the first DC Extended Universe TV series. Five of the episodes are also directed by James Gunn. Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji feature in the series.
