After Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were hospitalised while filming a stunt for the film, the project was teased once again in December of last year. “The second day of filming Jackass and already Steve-O and Knoxville are hospitalised by jumping on a full-speed treadmill with band instruments, like a F**** tuba,” the group’s troubled Bam Margera confirmed in a video.
In 2021, Bam Margera was dismissed from the production. Director Jeff Tremaine sought a restraining order against Margera after he was fired, and the court ordered Margera to stay a “minimum of 100 yards away from Jeff, his wife, and children.”
Margera had taken to Instagram prior to the restraining order being obtained, claiming that the Jackass members had abused him due to his bipolar condition. “My family – Jackass – has betrayed me, rejected me, and abandoned me,” he stated. Not all of them, at least. I adore them all, and they adore me in return.”
Now we have solid confirmation that Jackass 4 is on the way. The series revealed the title and release date of the upcoming instalment in a social media post. The official title of the film is Jackass Forever, and it will be released in theatres on October 22, 2021.
