James Gunn’s Peacemaker Series New Special Trailer

Happy New Year! A Special trailer for James Gunn’s Peacemaker has now arrived.

Peacemaker will follow the origins of the titular hero, played by John Cena, a merciless killer who will try to achieve peace at any cost. The series will pick up after the events of The Suicide Squad and will likely cover Peacemaker’s backstory and how he got to be the hero/villain he is. Peacemaker will also introduce a new team of characters to back Cena’s lead performance, including Orange Is The New Black star Danielle Brooks. watch the new trailer below.

In a recent interview with SFX Magazine Cena said, “It addresses a very important thing that all of us can relate to, and that’s the sometimes uncomfortable dysfunction of family.” The dysfunctional dynamic between father and son can be seen multiple times in Peacemaker, highlighting the similarities between the two Smiths.

The cast includes John Cena, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Peacemaker contains eight episodes, written by James Gunn. The titles of the episodes have not been revealed yet. Gunn also the directed 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8 episodes. The series will premiere on January 13, 2022, exclusively on HBO Max.
