Jennifer Coolidge is said to be in talks to reprise her role as Tanya McQuoid on the second season of HBO’s The White Lotus, which will largely be set in a different resort with a different cast of characters.
The six-episode comedy-drama, written, directed, and executive produced by Mike White, was set at an exclusive high-end resort and chronicled the escapades of several visitors and workers over the course of a week. The hugely successful series (which got excellent reviews and a lot of talk throughout the summer) was stretched for a second part despite being labeled as a limited series initially. The anthology tale, according to HBO, “leaves Hawai’i and follows a separate group of tourists as they fly to another White Lotus resort and live in temporarily among its people.”
White told TVLine. “But maybe it could be a Marvel Universe type thing, where some of them would come back.” While other members of the original cast have expressed interest in returning to the hit show, for now, Coolidge is the only one we know is set to return. HBO doesn’t seem to be in a rush to give out any more information, and no release date has been announced. We could probably use some more time to process that season-one ending anyway.
