Netflix released a new teaser trailer for Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s ‘Do Revenge’ starring Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes. The full trailer will release on Tuesday (Aug 16). The dark comedy film centers on two cohorts who agree to go after one another’s bullies. watch the trailer below.
Do Revenge is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, she co-wrote the script with Celeste Ballard. The film follows Popular Drea (Camila Mendes) who wants revenge on her boyfriend for publishing her sex tape, and exchange student Eleanor (Maya Hawke) is haunted by a rumor. The two teenagers team up to take action against their tormentors.
According to creator Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Via US Magazine), the main theme of the story is about not assigning labels to any one person. “I think there are different points where everyone’s the villain and everyone’s the hero in this story,” she explained. “And that is so much of what growing up is. I wanted to make something that paints with all the colors of adolescence.”
she added, “There is the comment on, not necessarily cancel culture, but accountability versus the way that we tear people down without the right information potentially, and the way that we lift people up without the right information potentially.”
