Jensen Ackles, who came as a guest in the second season finale will be joining as a regular cast in season three. Ackles plays the role of Beau Arlen, a confident and charming good ol’ boy from Texas who steps in as temporary Sheriff (and Jenny Hoyt’s new boss) as a favor to his friend Sheriff Tubb. Ackles.
Big Sky is described as a crime thriller which is created by David E. Kelley and based on The Highway series of books by C. J. Box. The series has a lot of unsolved mysteries, which led to extending Big Sky. The series follows private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken.
Following the resolution of the kidnappings, Jenny joins forces with Cassie to continue the search for the truck driver who escaped, while also dealing with a new mystery. As season two begins, the truck driver is still missing, while Jenny decides to rejoin the county sheriffs and encounters another case of stolen drugs and money.
Jamie-Lynn will also join Ackles, She reprises her role as Tonya, a waitress at a local diner whose boyfriend mysteriously disappears. Tonya hired the services of Dewell & Hoyt to find her boyfriend, but soon afterward found herself stepping into power as a trusted associate of the local crime family.
The other cast includes Brian Geraghty, Dedee Pfeiffer, Omar Metwally, and Anja Savcic. Big Sky is produced by 20th Television and A+E Studios. Elwood Reid serves as showrunner, executive producing alongside creator Kelley.
