Jesse Plemons has been cast alongside Elizabeth Olsen in HBO Max’s ‘Love and Death’, a limited series about the true story of Wylie, TX, housewife Candy Montgomery’s murder of Betty Gore in 1980.

Jesse Plemons has been cast alongside Elizabeth Olsen (Fargo, Black Mirror) has been cast as the protagonist in HBO Max’s Love and Death, a limited series based on the actual tale of Candy Montgomery’s 1980 murder of Betty Gore in Wylie, Texas. The series, from the creators of Big Little Lies and The Undoing, David E. Kelley and Nicole Kidman, and Lionsgate Television, stars Elizabeth Olsen as Montgomery.

Love and Death are based on the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs by Kelley and a series of pieces from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death In Silicon Prairie,” Part I & II) directed by Homeland’s Lesli Linka Glatter.

The limited series follows the true story of a woman who killed her friend from church with an axe.

Plemons’ performance in Season 2 of Fargo earned him an Emmy nomination and a Critics Choice Award. He also played Todd Alquist in the final two seasons of Breaking Bad and the follow-up feature film El Camino and received an Emmy nomination for his part in the highly acclaimed series Black Mirror. He may most recently be seen in Charlie Kaufman’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things, as well as the Oscar-nominated film Judas and the Black Messiah. Starring in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, Scott Cooper and Guillermo Del Toro’s new film Antlers, Jane Campion’s movie The Power of the Dog, and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon are among his future credits.
