John Cena Arrived At The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, had its red carpet debut on Monday night, and it was an exciting occasion for everybody involved. It was Gunn’s first public appearance since announcing that he would portray Jaime Reyes in HBO Max’s upcoming Blue Beetle film. For Cobra Kai actor Xolo Mariduea, it was his first public appearance since announcing that he would play Jaime Reyes in HBO Max’s upcoming Blue Beetle film. But for John Cena, who portrays Peacemaker in both the film and the upcoming HBO Max series based on the character, it was just another chance to suit up. That’s right, Cena dressed up as the Peacemaker for the premiere of The Suicide Squad.

Cena posted a quick clip of himself at the premiere of the film, revealing that he was dressed as Peacemaker in full costume. He also paused to speak with Variety on the red carpet, still dressed up, about how he got cast in the picture.

The premiere on Monday night was Cena’s latest appearance in his Peacemaker outfit. Cena has worn the outfit in a number of on-camera interviews, and even Gunn has stated that Cena can’t seem to stop himself from wearing it anywhere. Gunn also said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he’s not sure whether the show Peacemaker would be renewed since Cena keeps stealing the outfit.

The Suicide Squad release in theaters and stream on HBO Max on August 6th & Peacemaker is expected to fall on HBO Max in early 2022.
