Phoebe Waller-Bridge & Fiona Shaw joined John Krasinski’s untitled fantasy comedy starring Ryan Reynolds. Krasinski will be directing and writing the film. The filming will start in summer 2022 and is set to release on November 17, 2023.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The plot is being kept under wraps, although it is based on Krasinski’s original notion about a child’s journey to find their creativity.
Shaw featured in Killing Eve and guest-starred on Fleabag, so Waller-Bridge and Shaw aren’t strangers (she earned Emmy nominations for both). Shaw’s other roles include Ammonite and Aunt Petunia Dursley in the Harry Potter films. The Irish actress will next be seen in Disney+’s Star Wars series Andor.
With his Sunday Night colleagues Allyson Seeger and Andrew Form, Krasinski is producing the unnamed picture. Reynolds’ business, Maximum Effort, is also a producer, and George Dewey of Maximum Effort will executive produce.
Paramount has first-look arrangements with both Krasinski and Reynolds’ production companies. When former 20th Century Fox production executive Emma Watts — who shepherded Reynolds’ Deadpool trilogy — arrived at Paramount in mid-2020, they inked the Maximum Effort deal (she recently departed).
