Bill Skarsgårdis gearing up for action against Keanu Reeves, as Collider exclusively discovered that the It star is in discussions to join Keanu Reeves in Lionsgate’s John Wick 4. ChadStahelski (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Shamier Anderson (Stowaway), and Japanese-British popstar Rina Sawayama have all been cast in the high-octane sequel, which will be directed by Chad Stahelski.
New Power Pack element adding to John Wick Chapter 4.Stahelski is producing John Wick 4 alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, while Reeves is executive producing alongside Louise Rosner. In France, Germany, and Japan, production is set to begin this summer.
Skarsgård is most known for his role as Pennywise the Clown in the It film franchise, but he has also appeared in Netflix’s Hemlock Grove and Hulu’s Castle Rock. Skarsgård had already collaborated with original John Wick co-director David Leitch on Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2, so Leitch may have put in a good word for the actor with his Wick co-stars.
Skarsgård most recently played Tom Holland‘s father in The Devil All the Time, and he has three independent films coming out this year: Winston Duke’s Sundance smash Nine Days, John Boyega’s criminal dramedy Naked Singularity, and Adrien Brody’s historical action epic Emperor. He’ll also appear in the true-crime thriller Gilded Rage and Rupert Sanders’ Vietnam War film The Things They Carried, both directed by Rupert Sanders.
WME, Magnolia Entertainment, Swedish manager Jenny Planthaber, and attorney David Matlof represent Skarsgård, while Lionsgate has yet to comment on his casting in John Wick 4.
