Jupiters Legacy season 2 – Mark Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy series is being turned into an anthology franchise by Netflix. The next episode of the Jupiter’s Legacy trilogy will be a live-action version of Supercrooks, which dives into the story of Millarworld’s super-villains.
Jupiter’s Legacy, on the other hand, will not be renewed as a series. Netflix has decided to release the high-profile actors — headlined by Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, and Ben Daniels — out of their obligations to the series due to Netflix and Millar taking a new creative approach with the IP and the talent options shortly expiring.

Jupiter’s Legacy might return in a new incarnation, according to sources. “We’re certain we’ll return to it later,” Millar said of the game.

Supercrooks, the superpowered heist comic about eight supervillains written by Millar and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu, will be adapted into an anime series by Netflix later this year. This month, it will have a sneak peek at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

While characters from Supercrooks and Jupiter’s Legacy cross over in the comics, the live-action Supercrooks adaptation is still in its early stages, thus it’s uncertain if characters from Season 1 of Jupiter’s Legacy will migrate to it.

Supercrooks is a return to the universe of Jupiter’s Legacy with a motley crew of supervillains, con artists, petty thieves, and leg-breakers that come forces for the heist of the century and the most ridiculous criminal thriller you’ve ever seen. They’re going to show that crime pays. Some folks simply want to have a good time and make a little filthy cash while they’re at it.

“Jupiter’s Legacy is a huge and rich universe with many characters to mine, and I’m excited to disclose that our next step here is a live-action adaptation of the Supercrooks comic I co-created with Leinil Francis Yu a few years ago,” Millar said. “As we continue to painstakingly explore all worlds of the Jupiter’s Legacy tale, we’ve taken the difficult decision of letting our wonderful cast out of their show commitment. We’re certain we’ll come back to it later, and we just wanted to thank you for your continuous support, as well as the actors and crew that made this look so good.”

Millarworld, the comic book publishing giant created by Millar, creator of such legendary characters and tales as Kick-Ass, Kingsman, and Old Man Logan, was bought by Netflix in 2017. It was the streamer’s initial purchase, with plans to create a number of films and TV shows, beginning with the live-action Jupiter’s Legacy and then moving on to the anime Supercrooks.

Millar is working on a diverse TV slate that includes The Magic Order, American Jesus, Empress, Huck, Sharkey the Bounty Hunter, and Prodigy, among others.
