Deadpool Cast and Plot Details
Deadpool 3 will be the first R-rated film in the MCU’s history and follows star Ryan Reynolds’ previous projects at Fox. The film is directed by Shawn Levy from the script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool. The plot details are kept secret in Marvel Database.
In an interview with Forbes, Ryan Reynolds told his Maximum Effort production company will co-produce Deadpool 3 with Marvel Studios. he told “I really had a crash course in the value of marketing and storytelling in this context through Deadpool,” Reynolds said while speaking to the outlet. “Deadpool taught me that necessity is the mother of invention. Deadpool, the franchise, never had the kind of budgets and finances to work with that some of the larger comic book properties did. Two of the greatest adversaries to creativity is too much time and too much money. I learned the value of character over spectacle through Deadpool.”
Marvel Studios confirmed that Bassam Tariq will be directing Blade Reboot, which is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2023. Julius Onah is set for Captain America: New World Order, which will star Anthony Mackie as Captain America and open May 3, 2024; and Jake Schreier (Paper Towns) is directing villain team-up Thunderbolts, which will close out Phase 5 with a July 26, 2024, release. The studio is actively hunting for a filmmaker for Fantastic Four, which in April lost Spider-Man helmer Jon Watts and kicks off Phase 6 on Nov. 8, 2024.
