Kevin Feige has hinted that more prequel films like Black Widow are "in the works" for other MCU characters. According to SlashFilm,

“We never intended on doing an origin story,” Johansson previously revealed about her character’s solo outing. “I just didn’t want to go back. I wanted to kind of move forward — even though we are going back! But it all makes sense when you see it. It felt like a good time because Natasha has always been a part of some operation… She’s always been an operative and she’s actually never really had to, for better or worse, make any decisions for herself.””She’s part of this greater whole, and whether it was the Red Room or S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Avengers, she’s had this kind of family. And then after Civil War, it’s all gone. And she’s, for the first time ever, really just on her own,” Johansson explained further. “She could totally disappear into the ether, and probably that would be that. She doesn’t have to return to anything, which is a pretty terrifying place to be.”

The perpetually delayed Black Widow film will finally give the Avenger her posthumous due, taking place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, when Natasha was a wanted fugitive, with a story that deals with Natasha’s history as a spy and assassin, and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
