Michael Waldron, the show’s lead writer, promises surprise Marvel cameos in the upcoming Disney+ series Loki. After Avengers: Endgame established an alternate scenario in which Loki escaped the Avengers‘ captivity in 2012, Tom Hiddleston‘s days as the god of mischief will continue. This is conceivable after he obtained the Tesseract and unwittingly changed the course of events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Loki will be apprehended by the Time Variance Authority and requested to assist in the restoration of the holy timeline he is responsible for destabilizing.
WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier both featured established MCU characters and new Marvel characters in support of their principal heroes during the start of Marvel Studios’ path of creating series for Disney+. When it comes to Loki, the show is expected to debut characters such as Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), all of whom are based on comic book characters. However, other than Loki, no other MCU characters have been confirmed to appear.
According to a new interview with Loki’s chief writer Michael Waldron, the Disney+ series may have some unexpected Marvel cameos. Waldron recently chatted with Digital Spy while on the road to promote the series ahead of the premiere of the first episode. He was asked which Marvel characters will feature in Loki by the site. “There was no reason we couldn’t try to track them down if they were within their rights and legal could clear it,” he added. The site then inquired about who would appear in the series, prompting Waldron to suggest that viewers should “expect the unexpected.”
Due to its premise, Loki is perfectly positioned to feature whatever Marvel character Waldron want. There is no limit to what or who can appear on the series because it will investigate an other timeline and potentially numerous other worlds. Mobius and Renslayer will play key roles throughout the series, and Thor, Heimdall, Grandmaster, Lady Loki, and even Mephisto have been hinted in the Loki promotion. Lady Sif, Kang, Enchantress, the Squadron Supreme, and others have been said to feature in Loki’s universe exploits.
With the premiere of Loki on Disney+ just around the corner, viewers will soon be able to discover who does and does not feature in the episode. The series might provide existing MCU actors the opportunity to play alternative versions of their characters, depending on who arrives. Fans would like seeing other MCU characters undergo the same treatment as Loki, given the series is planned to have numerous versions of him. Loki has the capacity to surprise viewers along the road, and it appears that he will when new episodes are published.
