Lord Of The Rings Series: Will Star

Season 1 of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings live-action TV series has officially finished casting.

Charles Edwards (The Crown), Will Fletcher (The Girl Who Fell), and newcomers Amelie Child-Villiers (The Machine) and Beau Cassidy have joined the cast of the big-budget series, which begins shooting in early 2020. The series features a 39-member ensemble cast and is expected to cost $465 million in its first season alone.

The prequel to Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring, Amazon’s LOTR, will explore new stories. The series delves into the legendary stories of Middle-mythical earth’s Second Age. Thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the epic drama takes place. The series begins in a period of relative calm and follows an ensemble cast of people, both known and new, as they face the long-feared return of evil to Middle-earth. These countries and characters will carve out legacies that will live on long after they are gone, from the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the magnificent woods of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the stunning island kingdom of Nmenor, to the furthest corners of the globe.
