The announcement was made at the Lucifer panel on Comic-Con@Home, along with a sneak glimpse at what’s going on in the Devil’s life following the major upheavals he (and the world) suffered at the end of Season 5.

After a montage of clips that tracked Lucifer’s journey from the first episode to the most recent one broadcast, the newly unveiled material was released. Lucifer’s convertible is stopped by a cop on a motorcycle in the sequence, exactly as it was in the series’ very first scene. He’s dressed in a white tuxedo this time, and his sole words are, “I’d want to express my regret. It’s my final night in Los Angeles.”

Lucifer Season 6: First Trailer

Lucifer is based on the comic book of the same name and follows the Devil, also known as Lucifer Morningstar, as he takes a break from governing Hell and tries to understand mankind and his position in it. It stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, D.B. Woodside, and Lesley-Ann Brandt. After his father, God, chooses to retire, he takes over as ruler of the universe in the final episode of Season 5, but the ramifications of this upheaval have yet to be revealed.
