Sarunas J. Jackson, who appeared as a guest star in the first season of the Cristin Milioti and Billy Magnussen dramedy, has been upgraded to series regular, and the show has added recurring characters Chris Diamantopoulos and Angela Lin, as well as Paula Abdul as a guest star.
Jackson, who is best known for his performance on HBO’s Insecure, portrays Jay, a Twin Sands bowling alley coworker of Milioti’s Hazel, with shocking new twists in Season 2.
Hank Walsh is a debonair, ardent FBI agent entrusted with unearthing the hidden secrets of The Hub. Diamantopoulos is well known for his work in Silicon Valley and most recently starred in Netflix’s Red Notice and True Story.
Deadline Reported that the series is based on Alissa Nutting’s novel, follows Milioti’s Hazel Green, a thirtysomething woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to Byron Gogol (Magnussen), a controlling tech billionaire. After discovering that her husband implanted a monitoring device – the Made for Love chip – in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her and know her “emotional data,” Hazel fled to her desert hometown to take refuge with her aging widower father Herbert, played by Ray Romano, and his synthetic partner, Diane.
Christina Lee, Alissa Nutting, Patrick Somerville, Dean Bakopoulos, Liza Chasin, Daisy Mayer, and SJ Clarkson are executive producers on the Paramount Television Studios-produced sitcom, which is presently in production in Los Angeles.
