Over the next few years, the MCU will continue to grow in significant ways, most notably through content on Disney +. On the streaming platform, the popular superhero series has already shown three live-action shows and one animated series, with many more on the way.

Marvel Studios is allegedly planning a Halloween special for Disney+, which might be based on Werewolf by Night, according to The Wrap. the project is “actively looking” for a 30-year-old Latino actor to appear in the film, which is set to begin shooting in early 2022.

In the covers of Marvel Comics, Werewolf by Night has had two incarnations, the first of which was Jack Russell, a descendant of lycanthropes who had the power to turn into a werewolf without the presence of a full moon. Jake Gomez, a Native American whose family has been cursed by lycanthropy, is a second iteration of the character.

Rumors about Werewolf by Night’s MCU home have been circulating for years, with rumors dating back to 2019 hinting that he may feature in a future project. Kevin Smith stated in July that Marvel Studios had scrapped plans for him to include Werewolf by Night in the now-defunct Howard the Duck animated series since the character would already be featured elsewhere.

“ In my head, when I started building my season, I was like, ‘Okay. Episode 5. Werewolf by Night ‘” explained Smith in his Fatman Beyond podcast earlier this year. “The idea of our story was that Howard was trapped here and he was trying to get pages from the Darkhold , which would allow him to come back. There’s Howard while I’m planning and then I went to Jeph and I told him what I wanted to do, and that’s when they said ‘You can’t use Werewolf by Night ‘, and I asked why. They said the film division was using it. “

Fans have theorized that the character may feature in Marvel’s Moon Knight series, which is being directed by Oscar Isaac, as the character first appeared in the comic book series Werewolf by Night.

If this production inspired by Werewolf by Night comes to fruition, it will be the second special MCU planned for Disney+.
