Michael Keaton’s Batman return made the entire DC fans turn a look into the ’90s. In June 2020, it is announced that Keaton’s Batman would appear in The Flash, which will lean heavily into the concept of the multiverse. Keaton himself confirmed his return as Batman in March 2021. Michael Keaton will also reprise the role in the upcoming HBO Max’s Batgirl. Check out a recent image Keaton shared in his Instagram post below.
Speaking to Deadline, Keaton said about his return in The Flash “I’m really into work right now. I don’t know why, but I am, and so, yeah, I mean, you know, to tell you the truth, somewhere on my iPad is an iteration of the whole Flash thing that I haven’t had time yet.” Explaining where he’s up to with a possible return, Keaton added, “I called them and said, I have to be honest with you. I can’t look at anything right now. I’m so deep into this thing I’m doing. Also, I’m prepping a thing I’m producing and getting ready to do down the road in the fall that I’ll be in, and I feel responsible for that. So, yeah, there is that. I’m not being cute or coy. If I talked about it, I’ll be just bullsh*tting you. I don’t really know. I have to look at the last draft.”
The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti from a script by Christina Hodson, starring Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Saroise-Monica Jackson, and Rudy Mancuso. The film will hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2022.
