Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now playing in theaters. Wakanda Forever shows the best origin story of the protagonist, Namor. In the film, the character was portrayed by Tenoch Huerta. Namor got his powers from his mother’s ingestion of a Vibranium-infused plant to treat smallpox. He himself revealed that he was a mutant.
Namor Explains To Shuri That How He Got Powers
In a scene from Wakanda Forever, Namor reveals to Shuri that “the plant gave me wings on my ankles and ears that pointed to the clouds, I was a mutant.” He was born with unique features, including ankle wings, and pointy ears. Also, he shows Shuri his Vibranium-rich underwater kingdom of Talokan, which he has protected for centuries from discovery by the world.
In an interview with Marvel, Director Ryan Coogler told the power levels and strength of Namor is the same as Hulk. Coogler said “[There’s] no equal in terms of his capabilities, being able to breathe underwater and breathe at high altitudes and walk around on land. He’s incredibly strong, he’s as strong as Thor, and if he’s around enough water he can be as strong as the Hulk.”
In Marvel Comics, Namor first appeared publicly in Marvel Comics #1. he is also known as the first comic book antihero. In the 1930s–1940s, Namor was one of Timely’s top three characters, along with Captain America and the original Human Torch.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever plot follows, “Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with Nakia and Everett Ross to forge a new path for their beloved kingdom.”
