Rawson Marshall Thurber’s 3 sequels script for the “Red Notice” franchise is ready and waiting for Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds’s availability. Netflix is currently planning to shoot the big-budget franchise back-to-back.
Read “Red Notice” Synopsis:
When an Interpol-issued Red Notice the highest level warrant to hunt and capture the worlds most wanted goes out, the FBI’s top profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) is on the case. His global pursuit finds him smack dab in the middle of a daring heist where he’s forced to partner with the world’s greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) in order to catch the world’s most wanted art thief, “The Bishop” (Gal Gadot). The high-flying adventure that ensues takes the trio around the world, across the dance floor, trapped in a secluded prison, into the jungle, and worst of all for them, constantly into each other’s company.
According to the Netlfix source from Deadline,
The plan is to bring back the star trio and add new characters to flesh out a heist-film ensemble reminiscent of the starry Ocean’s Eleven franchise. Red Notice was sold in one of the biggest pitch package deals of 2018, with Universal and Legendary winning a big auction for a project that at the time had Thurber and Johnson attachments. This was when Uni and Legendary were teamed with that duo on Skyscraper. Netflix was the runner-up in that bidding and stepped up in a hot second when Universal got cold feet on a budget that reportedly was $200 million or more, including the star salaries.
Beau Flynn’s Flynn Pictures Co will produce with Johnson, Hiram Garcia, and Dany Garcia via Seven Bucks Productions. Thurber will also produce under his Bad Version Productions, while Scott Sheldon will serve as exec producer.
