Netflix revealed the official trailer for Wednesday. The trailer was launched during the New York Comic Con, and after a couple of minutes, it debuts online. The horror series is based on the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. where Jenna Ortega plays the titular character. The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 23, 2022. Watch the trailer below.
According to the Netflix logline “Wednesday” series follows a supernatural mystery comedy focusing on Wednesday Addams and her years as a high school student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her psychic powers, stop a monstrous killing spree of the town citizens, and solve the supernatural mystery that affected her family 25 years ago—all while navigating her new relationships.
The series stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Jamie McShane as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Otinger, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Naomi J. Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, and Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems.
Speaking to Empire, Ortega told “I felt like I was genuinely having a panic attack when I was told,” Ortega added, “I was terrified. She’s a really cool lady. I was fine meeting her, but the first time we did a scene together and she had to see me done up the way she was done up 30 years ago, it was nerve-racking.”
