Nine Perfect Strangers, nothing is as it appears. The forthcoming Hulu miniseries, created by David E. Kelley and John-Henry Butterworth, follows nine people who check into a boutique health and wellness facility for a 10-day retreat supervised by the resort’s director, Masha (Nicole Kidman). Despite the fact that the group believes the series would help them heal and evolve, they are unprepared for what is to follow. watch the trailer below
Melissa McCarthy (Francis), Luke Evans (Lars), Regina Hall (Carmel), Michael Shannon (Napoleon), Bobby Cannavale (Tony), Samara Weaving (Jessica), Manny Jacinto (Yao), and others feature with Kidman in Nine Perfect Strangers.
Following that, the nine players explore the mystery surrounding Masha, with Evans’ Lars wondering if anyone has “met her” yet. Masha “mixes and matches her visitors like a drink,” Lars continues. Masha, according to Carmel (Hall), “allegedly” has the capacity to “totally alter” individuals.
Masha responds, “You came here to recover.” “This is going to be a fantastic adventure.”
Masha then warns that “sometimes it’ll be unpleasant,” as a series of clips of the retreat’s visitors in misery are put together. Francis says, “I don’t want to suffer,” to which Masha responds, “You’re already suffering.”
Nine Perfect Strangers is based on Liane Moriarty’s blockbuster novel of the same name, which was published in 2018. After HBO’s Big Little Lies, in which Kelley acted as the show’s creator and Kidman starred as one of the show’s many stars, this is the second small-screen adaptation of one of Moriarty’s novels.
In 2017, a major film adaptation of Moriarty’s 2013 novel The Husband’s Secret was announced, starring Blake Lively.
Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers begins on August 18th.
