The sixth and last series of Peaky Blinders has finally wrapped filming, and it’s a melancholy sensation. The historical crime drama first aired in 2012, and it was announced earlier this year that the sixth season, which will air on BBC One, will be the final Season. Anthony Byrne, the show’s director, posted a photo on Instagram of himself smiling with fellow crew members while holding a clapperboard.

After filming was delayed because of the Covid-19 epidemic, production on the last season resumed in January of this year. The shooting was halted once more in April when a staff member suffered a ‘false positive’ coronavirus test on-site, but it resumed in early May. Cillian Murphy (Tommy Shelby), Michael Gray (Finn Cole), Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby), and Sam Claflin (Oswald Mosley), who were introduced in series five, are among the returning cast members.

The sixth series will scoop up where the fifth left off, with Tommy putting a pistol to his own head in an explosive cliffhanger.

We’ll also learn who betrayed Tommy following his botched assassination attempt on Mosley, and we’ll learn more about Gina Gray’s (Anya Taylor-Joy) family. ‘Gina and whatever her family is, will make themselves known, Oswald Mosley and certain individuals surrounding him and his world,’ director Anthony previously told Obsessed With Peaky Blinders.

Despite the fact that this is the final season of Peaky Blinders, creator Steven Knight has previously stated that the tale “will continue in another form” and hinted at a film.
