Sea of Thieves has shifted to a seasonal format, with a rewards track updated every three months. Microsoft and Rare showed off what’s coming up for the pirate sandbox at their E3 presentation on Sunday, including a sneak peek at season three. In a new original narrative called A Pirate’s Life, there’s an unexpected crossover with the Pirates of the Caribbean series. watch the trailer below
Davy Jones and his crew, as well as Jack Sparrow, are present. We also encountered some new foes, such as enormous crab guys. It appears that players will have additional opportunities to spend time in the Sea of the Damned, which is now confined to a respawn feature. However, it appears that there is a vast universe in the spirit realm that players will be able to explore during A Pirate’s Life.
Sea of Thieves was a little dry at first, but with constant updates, the multiplayer seafaring game has been able to round out its gameplay. Rare has had the difficult chore of introducing new material without invalidating existing material, and though the game isn’t flawless, it’s come a long way since its first release.
